Pictures from my parent's visit
The drive out to Maracas Bay was spectular! This was one of the "scenic" stops.
Trinidad has the most glorious sunsets!!

Wonderful Time with Parents
We had a lovely time with my parents. We just dropped them off at the airport, so it was very sad to say goodbye. They had a great time volunteering this past week all over the ship -- finance office, book hold, school, training department and more! We're so happy that there were able to experience so many events and activities that go on throughout each week -- worship night, ship family, training DVD's, prayer night, Sunday service and more! We also had a great time exploring Port of Spain. Actually SEEING the ship was so great for them. We welcome any other friends or family that want to come for a visit! :)

Parents Visiting
We're having a GREAT time with my (Jennifer) parents! They arrived last Thursday evening and will stay through the 28th. We're having a wonderful time showing them all the ins and outs of ship life. We're also enjoying exploring Port of Spain, Trinidad. Today, we were off work, so went to a gorgeous beach, Maracas Bay. We all decided that it was one of the most gorgeous beaches any of us had ever been to! On Sunday, we all went to a local church called Great Commission Bible Church and LOVED it. The worship was incredible and the preacher was excellent. Praise God that my parents are having a terrific visit and can now more fully understand what we're doing on board the Logos Hope.

Howdy!
This morning, we had the official opening ceremony for Trinidad. In each port, we always have an opening ceremony to officially kick off the port. Media, local leaders, pastors, etc. are always invited to attend. For each ceremony, a handful of ship's crew dress up in their national costumes in order to represent our many diverse nationalities on board. For the first time since being on board, we were asked to dress as "traditional" Amercians for the ceremony. So we opted to dress as cowboy and cowgirl! What fun! We borrowed lots of pieces from friends and had a blast putting it all together. I think our costumes turned out pretty darn good! :) I didn't spend 4 years in Texas for university for nothin'! ;)

Goodbye Tobago, Hello Trinidad!
We sailed away from Tobago last evening and arrived in Trinidad early this morning. Thank God for a quick and relatively smooth sail. :) We're been looking forward to this port for a long time now as Jennifer's parents are coming to the ship for a visit in this port! They arrive on Thursday evening, so please be praying for safe travels for them. Overall, Tobago was a great port for the ship. We had over 26,000 visitors (over half of the island's population!), so we are very thankful to God!

Basic Safety Training
We had fun the past few days helping with the new crewmembers' ship Basic Safety Training! Since John and I have both gone through our Lifeguarding Certification, we really enjoyed assisting the new crewmembers in their water training. Enjoy the pictures our friend Eric took of the training.

Secretary of Tourism
Last evening, John and I had the wonderful opportunity to help host Tobago's Secretary of Tourism, along with his wife and two staff members for dinner on board the ship. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting them and having the opportunity to thank them for all their help in making our visit to Tobago such a success.
Beautiful Tobago!

New Ship Family Children
New schedule posted!
Our port schedule through March is now posted online! Check it out! Visit the Logos Hope website (www.logoshope.org) and click on "schedule." Or click here! After Tobago, we'll head to Trinidad, St. Lucia, Barbados, Guyana, Suriname, Aruba, then Jamaica. What a schedule!
Back on the Ship!
I returned back to the ship on Wednesday afternoon after a GREAT 12 days on land for the new recruit training. We now have 96 new crew members on board! Praise the Lord. The 12 days were incredibly busy and hectic (I felt like a kids camp counselor at times!), but wonderful at the same time. It was so refreshing to be off the ship for an extended period and have a change of scenery. Having a room with a window and a regular sized shower was a bonus as well! :) I led a few trainings for the new recruits over the 12 days and helped with several more. What a blessing. I really enjoyed getting to know many of the new recruits before they even arrived to the ship! Praise God for an incredible time. And John even got to come out for a new days, which was icing on the cake!
